The Barton Community College women's soccer team scored in each half Saturday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex in holding on for a 2-0 victory against Pratt Community College.

The victory matches Barton's season longest winning streak of three as the third place Cougars improve to 8-3-0 in Jayhawk West play and 8-6-0 on the season, while the Beavers slip to 1-9-0 and 2-13-0 overall. Barton's next action is a trip north to Concordia Wednesday afternoon for a 2:00 p.m. kick against conference leading Cloud County Community College (10-0-0, 12-2-0).

The Cougars got on the board early and never let up using a strong south wind in the opening frame. Freshman Kadin Stinson shredded the net just 16:05 into the contest sailing the eventual game winner far post over the outstretched hands of Beavers goal keeper Haven Johannsen producing her fifth net finder of the year.

Allowing just four total shots through the contest the Barton defense found their lone scare with 29:34 to play as Britney Bayer's 1-on-1 attempt with Cougar goalie Itzel Diaz ricocheted off the left post.

Four minutes later, Barton sophomore defender Alexsandra Fernandes put the final claw in the Beavers dribbling coast to coast lacing a missile near post netting home her second goal of the year.

Diaz and Aida Saenz combined to post the Cougars second straight shutout and fifth on the season surrendering just one shot on frame.
