Barton women's soccer Larissa Modesto kicks towards goal

The Barton Community College women's soccer team saw its three game winning streak come to a close Saturday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex falling 3-0 to conference leading Cloud County Saturday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

The Cougars drop to 4-2-0 in league play and 4-5-0 on the season as the T-Birds remain unbeaten in conference play at 5-0-0 while improving to 7-2-0 overall. Barton will look to get back on the positive side next Saturday afternoon hosting Garden City Community College in a 2:00 p.m. kick.

It took Cloud County just thirty-one seconds to score the eventual game winner as Franciele Cupertino launched a thirty-five yard blast utilizing a twenty-five miles per hour wind advantage to rattle the nets top shelf.

Barton had numerous chances for the equalizer including a mid-half attack chance but Larissa Modesto's shot from just outside the eight rolled just wide of frame

Gabriela Vargas doubled up Cloud County's lead with 3:16 left in first half action, buried deep in the left flank eighteen to ride the cross wind on a perfectly shaped top shelf goal.

The final nail in the coffin came in the 67th minute as Barton goalkeeper Itzel Diaz was just a half step late to intercept a breakaway by Izabella Christian resulting in an open net third goal of the day.
