Barron got the Cougars off to a quick start scoring her first goal unassisted just 4:38 into the game. She followed with her second goal twelve minutes later from a Carolina Reza pass to give the Cougars the two goal advantage headed to intermission. Dodge City's Sam Cypert cut the Conquistador deficit to one thirteen minutes into the second half. Launching a free kick just inside the center circle, Cypert's ball bounced high in front of the Cougar goal then ricocheted off goalkeeper Stephanie Lomas' hands for the goal.
Barton quickly responded less than two minutes later as Molly Hausmann found Ruth Cazier to increase the Cougar lead back to two. Barron found the net for her third time of the day sixteen minutes later after on a Jessica Rosenberg pass. Rosenberg put the final touches on the Cougars' fifteen shot-on-goal performance finishing off a Katelyn James pass with two and half minutes left in the contest.
