Three members of the Barton Community College wrestling team participated Sunday in the heavy fielded RWC Jet Open hosted by Newman University in Wichita, KS. 

Highlighting the day was Jonah Clarke and Ayston Perez quarterfinal appearances.

In the 184 division Clarke slipped in his quarterfinal tilt to Donnie Hurd III of Labette Community College suffering a second period fall. The freshman regrouped earning his lone victory of the day with an opening period fall over Austin Long of Oklahoma State University – Unattached. Clarke's day concluded in the opening period of the consolation semifinals falling to Jeremiah Voliva of Labette Community College.

After receiving a bye in the opening round of the 285 division, Perez dropped his quarterfinal tilt in a 10-1 major decision to eventual fourth place finisher Micah Lieberman of Labette Community College. The sophomore from Ulysses, KS bounced back in the consolation side with a 39-second fall over Riley Hollis of Labette Community College. Perez saw his day close suffering a 15-0 technical fall to Braden Morgan of Central Oklahoma University.

Izaiah Del Valle had a rough draw in the 157 division, as the sophomore suffered falls in both his matches to Joel Ostrom of Cloud County Community College and Brady DeArmond of Central Oklahoma University.

Barton's next meet comes closer to home as the Cougars will head to Hays on Sunday for the Bob Smith Open hosted by Fort Hays State University.
