The 13th ranked Barton Community College wrestling team picked up a trio of victories Wednesday evening in Goodland but fell on the short end of the final tally 33-15 to Northwest Kansas Technical College.

Ahead for the Cougars is their lone home dual of the season Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. against Colby Community College for sophomore night.

Freshman Zack Gomez notched his first Jayhawk Conference victory compiling a 15-0 tech fall over Mavericks' Taylyn Perez in the 125-class giving Barton the early 5-0 edge.

Trailing 9-5 after dropping matches in the 133 and 141 division, Kolby Droegemeier leaped the Cougars out front once more, earning a fall over Cole Hoffman improving his conference mark to 2-0 on the season.

3rd ranked Gable Howerton made it two straight for the Cougars securing the final victory of the night piling up a 13-5 major decision over James Foy at 157-pounds.

Having three open weight classes in the 174, 197, and 285 divisions, the Cougars hopes of a road victory fell short as the Mavericks were able to secure the final five divisions earning a pair of 6-2 upset decisions over 7th ranked Joey Ewalt and 9th ranked Andrew DeArmond.
