Crough's career best round leads Barton women to Blue Devil Invitational title #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's golf team cruised to its second title of the fall season Tuesday completing the two-day Blue Devil Invitational held at Dub's Dread Golf Club in Kansas City, Kansas.

With just two teams entered in the tournament, both being Barton teams, the big challenge was the course itself as the Cougars took on one of the longest lay-out stretch of green grass in the nation at 6216 yards to post a 110 stroke victory behind 338 and 329 rounds finishing at 91-over 667.

Ady Crough's collegiate best 4-over 76 vaulted the sophomore to the top of the twelve entry field, jumping over teammate Mathanee Pandee for her first individual title. Crough posted an 85 to trail Pandee's opening 81 but carding the low round with Pandee posting an 83 on Tuesday provided a three stroke victory at 20-over 164.Barton women's golf member Ady Crough following her individual title at the 2019 Blue Devil Fall Invitational.

Barton took four of the top six spots with Getsemani Carlos Lopez' rounds of 86 and 84 for a 26-over 170 total placing fourth, five strokes better than Mai Intanant's rounds of 86 and 89.

Rounding out the "A" team score in sixth place, just one stroke out of giving Barton a clean sweep of the top half of the leaderboard, Mia Trousdale posted 91 and 86 rounds for a 33-over 176.

Fort Scott Community College's Delaney Wisdom earned the fifth spot on the leaderboard with an opening 90 score before matching Trousdale's final round for a 32-over 175. Fellow Greyhound Gabbi Sands placed ninth at 56-over 200 as three Fort Scott players battled the Barton dominated field.

Barton will wrap up the fall season on Monday on its home StoneRidge Golf Course in hosting the Barton Invitational in a one-day, 18-hole tournament scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
