The Barton Community College women's golf team widened the gap in Tuesday's final round to win the Central Kansas Classic held over two days at McPherson's Turkey Creek Golf Course.

Opening Monday's round with a 53-over 341, the Cougars held a three stroke edge over host Central Christian College into today's final round as Barton would post a 342 in adding a pair of strokes cushion.

Getsemani Carlos Lopez again led the Cougars, matching her fifth place finish a week ago by firing rounds of 84 and 81 to accumulate a 21-over 165.

Fellow sophomore Mai Intanant made a final day charge of three spots with an 82 to follow the opening 86 in sliding into the sixth placing at 24-over 168.

The Cougars had two more in the top ten of the thirty-five entrant event, with Mia Trousdale's pair of 86 rounds one stroke better than Mathanee Pandee (86-87) for the 9th spot overall.

Joining Intanant as Barton's two players participating as an individual, Paige Barnes made the largest leap up the leaderboard firing an 84 after an opening 90 to finish one stroke behind Pandee for an 11th place tie at 30-over 174.

Tying for the 13th spot at 32-over 176 were two Cougars as Madison Peters strung a pair of 88 rounds for a consistent two days of golf while Ady Crough tumbled out of the top ten following an 85 with a closing day 91.

Barton's next meet is Monday in a road trip to Wentzville, Missouri, to compete in the two-day Crossroads JUCO Invitational held at The Golf Club of Wentzville.
