Piddon makes school history, Barton Women's Golf finishes thirteenth in nation
As weather forced the cancellation of the final day of the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship, so did the comeback for the Barton Community College women’s golf team Friday as the Lady Cougars finished thirteenth in the nation. The Lady Cougars completed their fourth round Thursday but with rain moving through the Daytona Beach, Florida, area the final eighteen holes of the championships held at the LPGA International Golf Club was finalized after fifty-four holes of play as not all teams were able to complete their round. Having finished within the top ten the previous two years, the all-freshman clad Lady Cougars’ three round total of 1088 placed Barton just six strokes from their opening round eleventh spot.

Freshman Peerada Piddon made school history earning All-Tournament Team honors recording the lowest three-round score of 8-over par 224 and highest individual placing finishing seventh. Piddon's achievements surpassed the previous 18th placing and 25-over par by Natthakan Teeratrakul's record breaking 2014 season, coincidentally achieved at the same LPGA International Golf Club while also being limited to only three rounds due to weather.
Piddon opened up the championships with a 3-over par carding a 1-under second nine leading the Lady Cougars to an eleventh placing after day one results. As was the case with all but one of the Lady Cougars, Piddon's low round came on the second day firing a 2-over 74 before winding up her tournament with what would be Thursday's final round 75 score to match her opening round and putting a historic 224 total on the board.
Carding an uncharacteristic 49 on the opening nine holes, Leeseo Park recovered with a 43 to finish the first round in 57th place. Carrying the momentum into Wednesday's round, Park moved up the standings to 53rd with an 87 but a 97 on the final day tumbled her down the standings to a final 65th position at 276.
Two Lady Cougars finished within two strokes of each other as Mackenzie Fabrizius and Bailey Gage finished 90th and 93rd respectively. Fabrizius' rebounded from a tough opening 102 with a 96 second day before finishing with a 97 for a 295 total. Gage on the other hand, opening with a 99 carding a low round 97 during the second day action before closing with a 101 finishing with a total of 297. Daleen Turner rounded out the team with a 103rd standing with a 314 with rounds of 101 and 115 before leaving Florida on a good note with a low round of 98.
