Piddon makes school history, Barton Women's Golf finishes thirteenth in nation
May 20, 2016As weather forced the cancellation of the final day of the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship, so did the comeback for the Barton Community College women’s golf team Friday as the Lady Cougars finished thirteenth in the nation. The Lady Cougars completed their fourth round Thursday but with rain moving through the Daytona Beach, Florida, area the final eighteen holes of the championships held at the LPGA International Golf Club was finalized after fifty-four holes of play as not all teams were able to complete their round. Having finished within the top ten the previous two years, the all-freshman clad Lady Cougars’ three round total of 1088 placed Barton just six strokes from their opening round eleventh spot. -
Barton women’s golf punches national ticket capturing fourth straight Region VI title
April 23, 2016The Barton Community College women's golf team wrapped up its fourth straight Region VI title rolling to a twenty-five stroke victory after Saturday’s final round of the Region VI Championships. One day removed from perfect golf conditions, the playing field at Hutchinson's Carey Park Golf Course took on a stiff south wind as the Lady Cougars rode their twenty-six stroke lead into the final round carding a 339 for a thirty-six hole tournament total of 664. Conference co-champion Dodge City Community College played much better on the second day edging the Lady Cougars by one stroke finishing with a 689 while Coffeyville Community College stayed consistent with 373 and 375 rounds finishing with a 748.

Park makes history, Lady Cougar golf leads Region VI Championship after day one
April 22, 2016The Barton Community College women’s golf team leads by twenty-six strokes after Friday’s first round of the Region VI Championships taking place at Hutchinson’s Carey Park Golf Course. In perfect weather conditions, Barton blistered the course with a team score of 325 through the first eighteen holes leading second place conference co-champion Dodge City Community College’s 351 and the 373 posted by Coffeyville Community College. The Lady Cougars, who won the last two conference meets to tie Dodge City for the conference title, are seeking their fourth straight Region VI Championship while punching their ticket to the NJCAA Division I Championships if able to hold the lead. Play resumes on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with a final round of eighteen holes.

Lady Cougars rally in conference showdown capturing fourth straight title
April 16, 2016Trailing by four strokes heading into Friday’s final round of the sixth KJCCC meet of the season, the Barton Community College women’s golf team rallied to win by four strokes flip-flopping the scoreboard in capturing the final conference meet of the season. The Lady Cougars bettered the field by eight strokes during the final nine holes to win their second straight conference meet tying Dodge City Community College in the final standings with three wins each during the season. As all the competitors fought through two days of extreme wind conditions at Great Bend’s StoneRidge Country Club Golf Course, Barton finished with a combined 532 while the Conquistadors carded a 536 with each of the two having four players in the Top-10 individual standings. Coffeyville Community College, who did not field a complete team, completed the individual standings placing all three of their Red Ravens into the Top-10.

Barton women’s golf keeps title hopes alive with conference victory
April 04, 2016Having fell just three strokes shy of pulling off a rally in its previous conference meet, the Barton Community College women's golf team led from start to finish the last two days winning the fifth KJCCC Meet of the season by twenty-one strokes. Leading by thirteen after the first nine holes at Dodge City's Mariah Hills Golf Course, the Cougars extended the margin Monday taking the top two individual placings finishing with four in the top ten. Barton finished with a 514 combined score while the hometown Conquistadors of Dodge City Community College finished with 535. The Cougars' victory snaps Dodge City's four meet win streak and sets up a showdown for a title in the final conference meet of the season April 15-16 at Great Bend's StoneRidge Country Club Golf Course.

Rally falls short for Barton women’s golf to begin second half conference action
March 29, 2016The Barton Community College women's golf team rallied on day two but fell three strokes short finishing second in the fourth KJCCC Meet of the season. Opening up the spring portion of the schedule with a conference meet, the Lady Cougars trailed by four after the first eighteen holes at the Emporia Golf Course cutting one stroke off the deficit in the final nine. Dodge City Community College held off the Lady Cougars assuring itself at least a tie for the conference title capturing its third straight conference meet grabbing a 3-1 lead heading into the final two meets of the season. The Conquistadors’ posted a winning 532 twenty-seven hole combined total with the Lady Cougars’ carding their highest conference score of the season at 535. Coffeyville Community College did not field a complete team and therefore did not register a team score.

Piddon captures second individual title, opening round dooms Lady Cougar golf
October 12, 2015The Barton Community College women's golf team finished second today in the third KJCCC Meet of the season. Following a disastrous opening eighteen holes digging a fourteen shot deficit Sunday at the Coffeyville Country Club, the Lady Cougars gained a stroke in Monday’s final nine holes but came up well short in the comeback. Dodge City Community College captured its second straight conference meet to grab a 2-1 conference lead heading to the spring season scoring a 510 twenty-seven hole combined total to the Lady Cougars’ 523. Coffeyville Community College did not field a complete team and therefore did not register a team score.

Streaks come to an end, Lady Cougar golf takes first conference loss in two years
October 05, 2015The Barton Community College women's golf team had its nine straight conference winning streak snapped Monday in Dodge City as the Lady Cougars fell by seven strokes in the second KJCCC Meet of the season. Trailing by one after Sunday?s nine holes, Barton couldn?t make the needed eighteen hole charge to catch host Dodge City Community College as the Conquistadors protected its home Mariah Hills Golf Course with a 515 to the Cougars? 522. Coffeyville Community College came in third at 572 in the three-team conference meet.

Fresh faces continue Lady Cougar golf’s dominance, capture first conference meet of season
September 29, 2015Having an entirely new squad from last season’s Region VI championship season didn’t slow down the Barton Community College women's golf team as the Lady Cougars held off a final day charge to win the first KJCCC Meet of the season. The Lady Cougars, who were protecting their home StoneRidge Golf Club course for the past two days, built a nine stroke eighteen hole lead in Monday’s opening round but had to hold on during Tuesday’s final nine holes winning by just five strokes. The victory kept Barton’s conference winning streak alive as its ninth straight win dates back to the 2013 season. The Lady Cougars finished with a 516 followed by the improved Conquistador squad from Dodge City Community College’s 521 and Coffeyville Community College’s 556.

Young Lady Cougar golf team opens 2015 season with second place finish
September 15, 2015The Barton Community College women's golf team opened up its 2015-16 season the last couple of days finishing second in the Central Kansas Classic. Held in windy conditions at McPherson’s Turkey Creek Golf Course, the all-freshman Lady Cougar team finished runner-up to top-five nationally ranked Redlands Community College but distancing fellow Jayhawk member Dodge City Community College. Barton finished with a 725 (+157), fifty-two strokes behind Redlands and twenty-six strokes ahead of Dodge City.
