Barton women’s golf team climbs to ninth on second day of NJCAA National Championships, Teeratrakul remains steady at fourteenth
The Barton Community College women’s golf team made a move on the second day of the NJCAA Women’s Golf National Championship being held at the LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Lady Cougars moved from eleventh to ninth place with a consecutive consistent round of golf shooting a seventy-one over par 359 after shooting a 357 in day one. With two days of competition remaining, freshman Natthakan Teeratrakul held her fourteenth overall standing improving a stroke from the previous day to finish with a 79. Kaylee Crawford was one stroke behind Monday’s performance finishing with a 92 but moved up a spot to tie for fifty-first. Blakelee Cooper dropped a few strokes to finish with a 95 allowing teammate Kara Koepplin’s 93 to catch her for the fifty-seventh placing. Madison Walden rounded out the team with a 103 to remain in a tie for eighty-third place while fellow freshman Abbie Thelen competing as an individual improved by three strokes to card a 97 to move up into a tie for the seventy-eighth position.

The Lady Cougars will start day three with their second consecutive day of early tee times and starting on the back nine with Thelen getting things started with a 6:00 a.m. Central Time tee off the box.
