Barton Bowling kicks off season with solid finishes at Midland Warrior Classic #GoBarton

The new look Barton Community College bowling programs kicked off the 2021-22 campaign this past weekend with a pair of solid finishes at the Midland Warrior Classic held in Omaha, Nebraska with the women placing sixth and the men rolling to a ninth-place finish.

On the women's side of things, the Cougars finished sixth out of the 11 teams entered in the two-day event clearing 7419 pins over five team games and 20 baker games. Claiming the team title was host Midland University scoring a total of 8786 pins. Battling against just one other NJCAA program, Barton held the higher end of Iowa Western Community College knocking down nearly 500 more pins.

Freshman Casey Feast posted a strong Cougar debut leading the Barton seven-pack with a five-game total of 842 finishing 32nd in the 89-entry field. Lone returner from last year's NJCAA runner-up squad Taylor Cessna, fell just 13 spots back piecing together a four-game total of 761 including a team high 248 round.

Fielding a whole new squad on the men's side, Barton managed to produce a top-10 performance finishing ninth tallying 8473 pins out of the 12-team field. Claiming the team title was Baker University edging out host Midland University by 38 pins with a total of 9157.

Caleb Carr led the six-pack of Cougars with a game high 225 and team high 959 pins over five individual games rolled concluding with a 24th place finish in the 127 individual field. Kadin Berry and Bryce Moore finished just 15-pins back of Carr tying for 28th with Griffin Peterson slipping three spots back with a total of 935. Freshman Andrew Harden tossed to a team high average score of 193.8 over his four games.

Barton will return to the lanes on Saturday and Sunday at the SWIBC I & II held in Fort Worth, Texas at the City View Lanes.
