Barton women's basketball announces trio of early 2020 signees.
The Barton Community College women's basketball program announces a partial list of signings for the upcoming 2020-21 Lady Cougar season.
"We are really excited about these early signees of our incoming class," said Head Coach Alan Clark now headed into his fifth season. "They are competitive and have a strong desire to succeed. And will represent Barton Community College well on and off the basketball floor."
Coach Clark is expected to announce additional signings for the season at a later date.
Lyndi Rumford, a 5'11 forward from Scott City, Kansas, helped lead Scott City to 20-4 overall record, sub-state championship, and birth into the 3A State Tournament, averaging 12 points nad five rebounds a game.
"Lyndi can step out and shoot the three as well as score inside. She is an excellent passer and will fit perfectly into the Barton family. She is a great person, teammate, student and will be an asset to our entire campus. I can't wait for our fans to get to know her."
Harata Coleman, a 5'8" guard from Palmerston North, New Zealand, averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per contest. She was invited to the Junior Tall Ferns The top Under 19 National team in New Zealand.
"We are excited and fortunate to have Harata coming to Barton and she is excited about the opportunity we are providing for her. She is from a rural area of New Zealand so she will fit right in here. She comes from a strong family that is committed to the values we are building our program on."
Cora Anderson, a 6'0 post player from Otis-Bison High School averaged 10.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Cora helped her team to the Class 1A State Tournament and 23-3 overall record, the highest win total in Otis-Bison school history.
"Cora is great person with a super work ethic. She can score with either hand around the basket and good range out to 15 feet and will give us a physical presence down on the block. She is an excellent student and will help us continue to build on our culture of hard work, dedication on and off the court and doing things the right way."
