Following the conclusion of the women and men's Region VI Basketball Championship contests, four players of the Barton Community College squads were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Three of the awards came from the women's team, Vanessa Oduah, Richelle Turney, and Queen Ulabo after the trio helped lead Barton to the championship game to finish runner-up concluding an 18-16 season.

Oduah buried the three-point game winner Monday lifting the Cougars' victory over 9th ranked Hutchinson, averaged 15.4 points, 4.4 assists, and 5.0 rebounds in the five-game Barton post-season run. Turney, who missed the Cougars' opening round game due to illness, put up 14.3 per contest including knocking down 6-of-12 from behind the arc in shooting 47.9% overall from the floor. Ulabo averaged a double-double 12.8 points and 13.8 rebounds in the stretch, earning the final week's player of the week award in closing out the season with four double-doubles in the last five contests.

Helping the Barton men to the region's quarterfinal round, Mavrick Gildyard's two games in the post-season was well recognized in earning the Cougars' lone All-Tournament award. Gildyard was a consistent force, staying on the floor for 35.5 minutes in the pair of games to average 21 points with 62.9% shooting. Beginning the week with a career high 25 points including a perfect seven tosses from the charity stripe leading Barton to its first round win, Gildyard wound up his Barton career on Sunday in the quarterfinal loss with a 17 point and 9 rebound effort coming up just shy of his fourth double-double of the season as the Cougars wound up with a 23-9 record.
