Barton's Ulabo earns second conference player of the week award #GoBarton

Barton women's basketball's Queen Ulabo earns Week 7 KJCCC Player of the Week honors

For the second time of season, Queen Ulabo of the Barton Community College women's basketball team has been named the KJCCC Division I Women's Player of the Week.

Ulabo helped the Cougars recover from a twenty-two point deficit last Wednesday, powering Barton to a ten point 102-92 victory over Neosho County to wrap up the pre-Christmas schedule. As four Cougars posted outstanding performances it was Ulabo's all-around effort leading the way with a career high twenty-eight points while pulling down half of her ten rebounds from the offensive glass for her fifth double-double of the season. Dishing out two assists, rejecting two shots, and three steals, Ulabo also sank 14-of-17 from the charity stripe to tie for the fourth best program single game performance in both categories.

The award is the third weekly conference award garnered by the Cougars as Ulabo followed Richelle Turney's distinction in week three of the season.

The victory sent the Cougars to the Christmas break with a 2-2 record in conference play and 6-7 on the season. Barton is currently in an over a three week break from competition before opening up the second semester January 4th in a 1:00 p.m. tip at Butler Community College. The Cougars' next home game is Wednesday, January 8, in hosting Cloud County Community College.
