Barton women with impressive bounce back, cruise to seventeen point win to wrap up Thanksgiving Classic

The Barton Community College women's basketball team rebounded from a disappointing loss on Friday to dismantle Independence Community College 72-55 at the Barton Gym Saturday evening. After shooting a season low field goal percentage the night prior, the Lady Cougars shot 57% in the first half to build a sixteen point lead into the break and finish 1-1 in the weekend’s Best Western Angus Inn and Cougar Booster Club Classic. The victory improves Barton to 8-2 and drops Independence, who had beaten Butler Community College on Friday night, to 6-3 on the season. Barton will have a few days rest before getting set for next weekend’s action in Hutchinson for the HCC Classic. The Lady Cougars will play both Friday and Saturday at 1:30 p.m., first taking on fellow conference member Allen County Community College then wrapping up the Classic with the junior varsity squad from Central Methodist University.
