Barton women hoops ink 6 players for 2005-06 season
The Barton County Community College women’s basketball team has signed 6 players for the upcoming season to go along with 9 returning sophomore giving the Cougars a deep squad for Coach Lane Lord’s 2nd season at the helm of the program. Barton inked 3 in-state and 3 out-of-state players.
Barton women hoops ink 6 players for 2005-06 season
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team has signed 6 players for the upcoming season to go along with 9 returning sophomore giving the Cougars a deep squad for Coach Lane Lord's 2nd season at the helm of the program. Barton inked 3 in-state and 3 out-of-state players.
The Cougars brought in some height to the mix, signing a pair of players over 6-2. The Cougars also added some athleticism with the signing of two quick guards and a pair of guard/forwards.
Andrea Barber
5-5 point guard, wing
Topeka, Kansas
Topeka High School
Barber missed all of last year after undergoing an operation for a torn ACL she suffered in during a fall league contest. As a junior, Barber was named All-Centennial League as she averaged 17 points a contest for the Trojans. She began starting for Topeka High as a freshman.
ChrisDell Harris
5-8, combo guard
Wichita, Kansas
Wichita West High School
Harris will be one of the fastest players in the Jayhawk Conference next season, possession state championship speed. Harris won a pair of 100m meter titles (freshman and junior years) and captured the Kansas Class 5A 200m title this past spring as a senior. She also won the long jump title and took 2nd in the triple jump. On the floor, Harris scored 17 points a contest last year for West and grabbed nearly 10 rebounds a game as well. She was a 2nd team All-City League selection and an honorable mention All-State 6A pick. Harris and her twin brother Odell (a 100m and 200m title winner this year at the state meet) will also run track at Barton.
Krishunna Hellen
5-9, guard/forward
Detroit, Michigan
Tyler Junior College (Pershing High School)
Hellen comes to Barton after being tabbed as an All-Region player for Tyler (Texas) Junior College last year. She scored 11.3 points a game and grabbed 4 boards in addition to shooting 50 percent from the floor. Those numbers put her on the 10-member All-Region IX 1st team. She earned All Detroit Metro honors her junior and senior seasons at Pershing High School.
Rachelle Love
5-10, guard/forward
Wichita, Kansas
Heights High School
Love will join her sister Sharece on the Cougar roster and rejoin her former high school coach in Coach Lord, who coached at Heights for 7 years before taking the Barton job last season. Love was a member of the Falcons 6A runner-up team this past season, scoring 10 points a contest to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. She was a 2nd team All-City League selection and an honorable mention All-State 6A pick.
Inga Muciniece
6-3, post
Ventsplis, Latvia
Muciniece will provide a presence in the post for the Cougars with her 6-3 frame. She played for Ventsplis Club Team in Latvia last season, scoring 10.7 points a game and grabbing 13.6 rebounds to put her among the Top 20 scorers and at the top of the list in rebounds for the league.
Stephanie N'Garsanet

Central Arizona CC (Voltaire High School)
N'Garsanet was a member of the NJCAA National Champion Central Arizona last season. Due to late enrollment, N'Garsanet wasn't eligible to play at Central Arizona until 2nd semester and never developed a role on the team. Her sister, Cristelle, was the leading scorer and rebounder for the University of Missouri this past season.
