Barton County women go 1-2 in Oklahoma
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team finished the weekend in Oklahoma with a 1-2 mark, giving the Cougars a 3-2 overall record. The Cougars lost to Eastern Oklahoma Thursday, 75-61, then fell to the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, Northeastern Oklahoma Friday, 110-56 in the first night of the NEO Classic. Barton County concluded its weekend with an 81-69 win over Ranger, Texas on Saturday at the NEO Classic.

Highlights
Saturday, the Cougars were led by Sarah Kendrick with 18 points, followed by Jenny Brown with 13. Barton shot just under 50 percent from the floor in the win. Leslie-Ann Minnis grabbed 10 rebounds for Barton and Kendrick added 7. Barton led 40-34 at halftime.
Friday night, the Cougars struggled with the No. 1 ranked NEO team. NEO shot to a 57-20 halftime lead and never looked back. Laura Irvine scored 10 to lead Barton.
Thursday in Wilburton, Okla. Barton County trailed 41-30 at half and was not able to rally back for the win. The Cougars did get the margin down to two points on a pair of occasions, but could not overtake Eastern Oklahoma. Kendrick scored 21 points to lead the Cougars.

Barton County will be at home this weekend for the Pizza Hut Classic. The Cougars will play Friday at 6 p.m. against Soberly, Mo. Saturday the Cougars will get a rematch with Eastern Oklahoma at 6 p.m.
