Barton softball Laci Dryden named the week nine KJCCC Player of the Week

Laci Dryden of the Barton Community College softball team has been named the week nine KJCCC Player of the Week.

Leading the Cougars to a thirty-run output in sweeping last Wednesday's doubleheader hosting Dodge City, the sophomore from Wichita batted .833 with an even better .875 on-base percentage at the top of lineup.

Going 3-of-4 in the opener, one of Dryden's hits was connecting on her first home run of the season while drawing a walk to reach base five times. In the nightcap Dryden continued to set the tone for the offense in reaching base all three at-bats, going 2-of-2 and drawing a walk while wreaking havoc on the bases stealing three of her four bags on the afternoon.

An honorable mention All-KJCCC/Region VI selection last year, Dryden is currently batting .441 on the year with a .540 on-base percentage in ranking among the top five in conference play in runs, hits, triples, walks drawn, and stolen bases.

Dryden's award is the second for the program this season following Allyson McDougal's week six honor which included the NJCAA's awarding of the National Player of the Week.
