Theo Leveque earned an All-Region VI selection to lead the Barton Community College men's cross-country team Friday morning at the Region VI Championships held at Hutchinson's Fun Valley.
Fielding a team for the first time in five years, the Cougars scored a 10th place finish with 236 points in the field of 12 teams. Claiming the Region VI Championship was top ranked Colby Community College pitching an impressive 23-point total.
Leveque led a four pack of new personal best times with a stoppage of 25:40.85 securing a 15th place finish in the field of 114 competitors.
Freshman Fabian Campbell ran a time of 27:32.63 to finish 40th with a new personal best shaving just over a minute off his previous best time.
Brandon Nguyen crossed the line in 67th with a stoppage of 29:20.71 while Bryant Galvez had a solid outing in just his second 8K race of the season slipping two spots back in 69th with a 29:27.83 shaving two-minutes off his previous best stoppage.
Rounding out the five pack of Cougars was Jarron King's 84th finish besting his personal best time by one-minute with a 30:12.80.
Barton will conclude the season November 12th at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships held at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
