Having just four healthy enough to compete on Saturday, the shorthanded Barton Community College men's cross country team completed its 2016 season competing in the NJCAA Division I National Championships held at the Prairie Trails Golf Course in El Dorado, Kansas.
The Barton Community College men's cross country team finished 11th in the Region VI Championships held Saturday at the Westar/Prairie Ridge Park Course in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Cougars placed two in the top fifty of the 123 man 8k race, compiling 97 points in the sixteen team field.

Held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, the Cougars completed the 8k race in an average time of 29:25.80 with four Top-100 placers amongst a field of 150 runners from NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA Division II levels.
The Barton Community College men's cross country team opened the 2016 season with an eighth place finish at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic held Friday under the lights of Hutchinson’s Fun Valley Sports Complex. Fielding an all-freshmen squad for the meet, the Cougars’ placing came against fifteen teams from the NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA Division II levels, with two individuals placing in the Top-32 of the 117 man field.
