Barton Women's Track and Field athlete Nia Robinson and Men's Track and Field athlete Giovanni Gutierrez have been named the week 24 "Barton Sports Weekly Athletics Award Honors" sponsored by Great Bend's Identifications.
The duo helped Barton to a pair of runner-up team finishes at the KJCCC/Region VI Indoor Championships held at Pittsburg State University's Plaster Center.
Nia Robinson claimed the Female High Point Athlete of the Meet earning a trio of golds coming in the High Jump (1.65m), Long Jump (6.16m) and Triple Jump (12.41m) for a season best and second best mark in the NJCAA.
Giovanni Gutierrez produced one of three first place finishes for the Cougar men claiming the shot put title in taking over the nation's top spot and fifth best ever heave in the programs history (17.81m).
Barton will have the weekend off before returning to the Plaster Center March 4-5 for the NJCAA Indoor Championships.
