The 4th ranked Barton Community College men's tennis team concluded its conference slate on Tuesday with an 8-1 victory at No. 7 Pratt Community College.

Barton captured all three doubles matchups to set the tone, rolling on with five singles victories running its conference record to 2-1 and 11-1 on the season while Pratt drops to 0-2 and 3-11 overall with a Sunday date at top ranked Cowley College still left on the KJCCC slate.

The Cougars, who canceled their weekend Texas trip of competition, will most likely schedule another non-conference date for final preparations for the Region VI Championships held April 26-27 in Arkansas City.

In tandem play the Cougars doubled up the Beavers 24-12 in the 36 games played, the No. 1 pairing of Victor Alves and Fernando Andre winning 8-4 over Alexi Khamartu/Simeon Latinchev, Gabriel Garay and Shane Tapera dispatching the Beavers' Gabriel Cuenca/Alex Ballinger 8-2 in the No. 2 slot, with Oliver Naude and Hayden Loffler completing the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win over Pratt's Sixto Golobart/Valentino Iveli.

The Cougars' most competitive matches on the scoreboard came in the top two singles matchups, Alves defeating Khamartu 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 1 spot with Garay winning 6-3, 6-2 over Latinchev in the No. 2.

Pratt picked up their lone win in the No. 3 slot with Andre falling to Cuenca 7-5 in the first set tie break and a 6-0 second set score.

Four games were the most the Cougars would surrender in the final three singles bouts, Tapera winning the No. 4 slot 6-0, 6-1 over Ballinger, Mateo Prado winning 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 5 over Golobart, and Naude victorious in the No. 6 spot with a twin 6-2 victory over Iveli.
