After an eleven day layoff, style points were out the window Wednesday evening in Garden City as the 9th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team scored an early second half goal in holding on for a 1-0 victory at Garden City Community College.

The Cougars' lone goal came just 2:34 into second half play as Genildo Postimo rattled the net for the third time of the season tapping in Baptiste Susini's through ball controlled off Tajay Grant's near-side cross.

Barton's fifth straight victory improves the Cougars to 5-1 atop the West Division standings and 10-2 on the year while Garden City remains winless in conference play at 0-5 in dropping to 4-8 overall.

The Cougars' next game comes Friday in North Newton in a 6:30 p.m. kick against the junior varsity squad of Bethel College before having a quick turnaround and long trip on Saturday for a 6:00 p.m. battle at the East's co-leader and 13th ranked Red Ravens of Coffeyville Community College.

Dennis Bottcher picked up the victory in goal improving to 8-2, turning back five of the Broncbusters' ten total shots as the Cougars put eight on frame within their 12 shots.
