Barton Soccer splits weekend results in Iowa #GoBarton

Barton Men's soccer results against Indian Hills and Iowa Western

Hitting the road for the first time on the young season, the Barton Community College men's soccer team earned split results over the weekend in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Striking for four opening stanza goals would be all Barton needed Friday afternoon defeating Indian Hills Community College 4-2.

On Saturday, the Cougars got a solid test going toe-to-toe with former Barton head coach Mike Brown's top ranked Reivers of Iowa Western Community College. Squared away after 90-minutes of play, the Cougars upset bid would fall short in overtime as a 25-yard laser strike handed Barton its' first loss of the season falling 1-0.

Moving to 3-1-0 on the young campaign, Barton will return home to open conference play Wednesday against Garden City Community College in a 1:00 p.m. kickoff from the Cougar Soccer Complex.

Tajay Grant led the Cougar offense over the weekend netting a first half hat trick against Indian Hills while Kotaro Natsume provided the other lone tally for his first collegiate goal.

Samuel Joerg, Augusto Militao and Victor Lucca aided three of the four markers each recording assists in the 4-2 victory over Indian Hills.
