The 17th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team got the only goal they would need twelve minutes into Wednesday's contest at the Cougar Soccer Complex as the Cougars posted their seventh shutout of the season with a 5-0 victory over Northwest Kansas Technical College.

The Jayhawk West first place Cougars improve to 5-0-1 and 9-1-1 on the year while dropping the Mavericks to 1-5-0 and 1-7-0. Barton's next contest is Saturday at Garden City Community College in a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.

A pair of Cougars had four point afternoon efforts with Tevin Rochester netting two goals while Colin Roemer distributed on a pair before slamming in his fifth goal of the year finishing off Toranosuke Abe's first assist of the season to cap Barton's scoring at the 78th minute.

Chris Camilli scored the eventual game winner 11:42 into the action meeting Damia Viader's corner kick with a header to the back post for the Venezuela sophomore's first goal of the year.

Barton put two more goals on the board in first half play behind pinpoint passing and execution resulting in Rochester's consecutive goals. Viader picked up his second straight assist dishing to Damen Marcu for the one-touch set up for Rochester's 22:32 goal with Roemer and Gabriel Arraes' passing game setting the stage for Rochester's sixth net shaker of the season giving Barton a 3-0 halftime edge.

Aidan Hill's long ball set up the Cougars' fourth goal of the day, coming mid-way through the second half finding Roemer in stride down the left flank who then sent a through ball to Arraes for the KJCCC leader's twelfth goal of the year.
