Barton men's soccer posts second straight 2-0 shutout, triumphs over Western Nebraska
The Barton Community College men’s soccer team scored in each half of Friday’s battle with Western Nebraska Community College in picking up a 2-0 non-conference victory. Barton improves to 2-0 on the season while Western Nebraska drops to 1-1 having defeated Jayhawk member Pratt Community College 3-2 on Saturday. Looming on the schedule is the Cougars’ Jayhawk West opener as Barton travels to Concordia on Friday to take on Cloud County Community College in a 3:00 p.m. kick-off.

Pierre Cherubin recorded the game winner with 6:56 remaining in the first half taking a deflected ball outside the 18' sending a one-touch rocket to the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. Lucas Alves tacked on the insurance goal in the second half punishing the corner of the net from a penalty kick after being tackled in the box with 9:17 remaining in the contest.
