Doug Kaiser enters his 6th year as the men's coach, as well as, having dual coaching responsibilities leading the Lady Cougar program for the past eight years.

This past season the Cougars finished fifth in the competitive Jayhawk Conference, a fourth place Region VI finish, and sixth spot placing in District III.   The Cougars had two players landing in the top five in the final conference season, Natchapol “Putter” Srinoon and Landon Fox.  Srinoon will enter the 2015-16 season as the defending conference champion while Fox ended his Barton career with a second straight trip to the national championships.

Two seasons ago Barton finished 21st in the nation at the NJCAA Division I Men's National Championship held at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa, as the Cougars qualified for the national championships for the first time since 2006.

It was also a season where the Cougars and Coach Kaiser saw the achievements of his first Region VI Men’s Champion and Barton’s first NJCAA All-American.  After winning the Region VI Tournament two weeks prior and becoming the first Cougar to do so since 2002, sophomore Jeremie Eloy continued to make his mark on school history becoming the first men's golfer to earn the NJCAA All-American award finishing fourteenth at the Championships.

The Cougars’ solid season in the competitive Jayhawk Conference began by placing third in the season’s first meet and remained steady in fourth place throughout the season.  Even though Barton slipped to fifth after the final week of conference play, the Cougars took fourth in the Region VI Championships to earn the NJCAA Championship berth.

Two seasons ago, Kaiser led a young Cougar squad in improving two spots in each of the conference, region, and district standings.

Kaiser played for the Cougars during college in the early 1980's along with former Barton Coach Steve Gotsche.  His final season he placed in the top 15 at the Region VI meet.  Kaiser also played locally in high school at Great Bend High.

Kaiser also coaches the women’s squad.  After not fielding a complete women’s team in his first season, Coach Kaiser’s seven seasons has produced four region championships, two region runner-up finishes, six national tournament appearances, two individual regional champions, and a NJCAA All-American.  More on Kaiser and the women's program
