The Barton Community College men's golf team opened up their season this week with a fourth place finish in the two-day Swede Fall Invitational held at Salina Municipal Golf Course.

The Cougars completed Monday's pair of rounds with a 290 and 285 to sit in third place of the nine team field, completing the two day tournament on Tuesday slipping into fourth with a 302. Barton finished with a 37-over 877 as host Bethany College took home the team title with a 14-over 854.

A pair of Cougars finished among the top ten of the fifty-four man field with sophomore William Barnak moving up the leaderboard shooting 1-over following an opening 74 with rounds of 70 and 71 to place 8th at 5-over 215.

Antoine Martinot had a solid collegiate debut with consistent rounds of 72, 74, and 73 to place 10th with a cumulated 9-over 219.

Barton's next meet will comes Monday in McPherson, Kansas, as the Cougars compete in the two-day Central Kansas Classic at Turkey Creek Golf Course.
