The 22nd ranked Barton Community College men's golf team opened up conference play with a fourth place finish Monday in the thirty-six hole tournament held at Manhattan's Colbert Hills Golf Course.

The Cougars posted a 311 in the morning round to sit tied in the third place and despite carding an even better 3-5 round in the afternoon, Barton fell a spot in the standings with a combined 40-over 616 score.

Ryotaro Tsuji tied for fifth individually, improving on an opening 76 to climb four spots with a 74 for a 6-over 150 score.

Two other Cougars cracked the Top-20 of the forty-six man field as Renan Laveissiere and William took different paths to end up in a five-way tie for 17th at 13-over 157. Laveissiere followed an opening 77 with an 80 to fall four spots down the leaderboard while Barnak leaped up fourteen spots in a rough collegiate debut 84 to tie for the afternoon's fifth best round of 73.
