Texas trip results in fifth place finish for Barton men's golf #GoBarton

Fresh off last week's victory, the Barton Community College men's golf team placed fifth this week at the TJC Fall Invitational held Monday and Tuesday in Tyler, Texas. The No. 15 ranked Cougars shaved five strokes off their opening 297 round in moving up to a fifth place tie shooting a combined 13-over par 589. Erasing a three stroke first round deficit, No. 3 ranked Midland College took the crown of the twelve team field firing a combined 9-under par for a one stroke victory over Murray State College with an impressive 14-under par 562.

Two Cougars finished in the top-25 of the seventy-three man field as freshman Oscar Elfvin once again led the team with 72 and 74 rounds to place 19th with a 2-over par 146. Placing in the 25th position, Kylian Cavdar carded 74 and 73 rounds finishing at 3-over 147.

The Cougars wrap up the fall portion of the season with a 9:00 a.m. tee time Monday in hosting the Barton Invitational at Great Bend's Stoneridge Golf Course.
