Despite the weather conditions, the Barton Community College men's golf team was working its way up the leaderboard in the final round of the two-day Central Kansas Classic, only to have its charge through Tuesday's eleven holes wiped off the board with the Classic's conclusion due to rain being added to the mid-40 degree temperature. The Cougars officially ended in fourth place, having shot a combined 55-over 615 in Monday's two rounds of 15-25mph winds and decreasing temperature conditions throughout the day. Barton completed the morning session with a 311 and as the weather conditions deteriorated just like what was occurring in Tuesday's morning round, the Cougars played better golf in the afternoon carding a 304.

Four Cougars ranked in the top-20 of the eighty-seven man field with freshman Oscar Elfvin placing tied for 10th with rounds of 76 and 75 to finish at 11-over 151. One stroke behind was sophomore Thitipong Homruen who after opening with a 79, came back in the afternoon round in firing a 73 for a 12-over 152 tournament for a 12th place tie.

Tied for the 20th spot at 16-over 156, Kylian Cavdar and Adrien Bonnet flip-flopped their rounds to finish in the tie with Cavdar carding 80-76 rounds while Bonnet began with a 76 before falling back with the afternoon 80 score. Rounding out the squad was Jacob Roth in a 48th place tie at 30-over 170 with an opening round of 86 before improving in the second round with an 84.

Two individuals donned the Barton blue as Kelby Titus' opening 77 round was four strokes better than the afternoon's 81 in slipping just out of the top-25 with a 26th place tie at 18-over 158. Michael Kelly stayed consistent in his two Monday rounds, carding twin 92 scores for a tie for 73rd at 44-over 184.

Barton will be back on the links next Monday for the two-day Blue Devil Fall Classic being held at Dub's Dread Golf Course in Kansas City, Kansas.

Fellow Jayhawk Conference member Dodge City Community College took the team title with a 587 to win by six strokes ahead of Bethany College. Sterling College finished in the third spot and nine strokes ahead of the Cougars with a 606.
