Eloy leading sixth place Cougars after day one of District III Championships

The Barton Community College men's golf team sits in sixth place after the second of three rounds of the District III Championships being held at Lawrence's Alvamar Golf Course.  The Cougars posted a first round of 325 then broke out of a sixth place tie by scoring a 311 in the second round to place an eight stroke cushion in the sixth and final position to qualify for the NJCAA Division I Championships.  Sophomore Jeremie Eloy leads two Cougars in the top twelve in the individual standings firing an eight-over par 152 in his two rounds, just four strokes out of first place.  The Championships will resume for the second and final day's eighteen holes on Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m.
