Barton Men’s Golf adds local Kansas talent to 2014 signing class

Barton Community College Head Men's Golf Coach Doug Kaiser announces the signing of four student-athletes to NJCAA Letters-of-Intent to play for the Cougars during the 2014-15 season.

Three local golfers highlight the lists including Great Bend's Chance Haney and Ellinwood's Reley Ney and Jared Oelke.  The three will join Valley Center Jestin Jackson to the 2014 incoming freshman men's class.  

Chance Haney

High School:  Great Bend

Hometown:  Great Bend, KS

Parents:  Mitch and Shawn Haney

Comments:  Chance is a very hard worker in all sports he participates.  Attends golf camps at Oklahoma State each summer.

Jared Oelke

High School:  Ellinwood

Hometown:  Ellinwood, KS

Parents:  Steve and Amy Oelke

Comments:  Along with maintaining a 4.0 GPA, Jared has improved his golf game every year.  A Top-5 state finisher last season at the challenging Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City, KS.

Jestin Jackson

High School:  Valley Center

Hometown:  Valley Center, KS

Parents:  Rodney and Shannon Jackson

Comments:  Consistently shoots 69-71 at the very challenging Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, KS.  Perhaps an early sleeper to challenge for the conference title.
