Enoch’s record performance powers Cougars to 78-69 win over Cloud County

The Barton Community College men’s basketball team closed out the regular season Wednesday night at the Barton Gym with a 78-69 victory over Cloud County Community College. Avenging a last second loss in Concordia back in January, Barton erased a three-point second half deficit with a 12-2 run midway through the half and never allowed the Thunderbirds closer than five points the rest of the way. Finishing second in the Jayhawk West at 14-4, the nationally receiving votes Cougar team improved to 24-6 overall while dropping Cloud County to 3-13 in West play and 16-14 overall. In a stroke of oddity regarding the seeding for the upcoming Region VI tournament, the two teams will battle again in a rubber match this Saturday as the Cougars will again play host to the Thunderbirds in the first round of the Region VI playoffs. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. with free admission to the public.
