The teams traded leads for the next six minutes until sophomore Algie Key's two free throws and strong inside bucket gave the Cougars the lead for good with just under ten minutes remaining. Holding a five point lead, Raheem Johnson's fast break dunk off a Trey Unrau pass capped off a Cougar 4-0 run pushing Barton's lead to eight with two minutes remaining that sealed the fate of the Blue Devils.
Algie Key's seventeen points led Barton in scoring while Andell Cumberbatch and Kevin Kuteyi finished with nine points each. Dominique Washington led all players with eighteen and was joined by Jordan Banks' eleven and D.J. Booker's ten points for the Blue Devils.
