Landrith continues Junction City connection to Barton County

Junction City has been very good to the Barton County Community College men's basketball the past few years. That tradition will continue next season when Aaron Landrith add his name to the list of Junction City Blue Jays to play hoops for the Cougars. Landrith signed a letter-of-intent recently with Barton County. He is 1 of 5 in-state signees for the Cougars and Coach Soupy Campbell for next season.

As a senior with the Blue Jays, Landrith earned 2nd team All I-70 league honors, posting a 9 point average. Landrith, a 6-0 guard, also averaged nearly 2 steals per outing leading Junction City to the Class 6A Sub State finals, where they fell to Washburn Rural. It was the 2nd straight year the Blue Jays lost one game short of the state tourament.

Landrith hit 45 percent of his 3-point shots last season including an 8-for-8 effort against Topeka High School in which Landrith scored a season-high 24 points. Those 24 points was a Junction City season-high at well. Landrith played in 13 games this past season, hitting 29 3-pointers for more than 2 per contest.

Landrith is the 6th player from Junction City to play for the Cougars the past seasons, joining the Rose brothers – Justin, Josh, Julian – as well as Elisha Fields and Gabe Martin. Landrith also played football at Junction City.
