Post-season play began this past Monday for the Barton Community College esports program as two Cougars finished in the national top twenty while Davon Morris advanced to semifinal action later this week.

This past Monday in the Fortnite national championship, Adam Hardin, Trent Keffer, and Elijah Payne took on over seventy competitors in a battle of survival. When the battlefield cleared, Hardin remained standing last for the Cougars in 8th place overall scoring ten points, registering two eliminations and two placement points by finishing 7th and 5th in two of the rounds. Giving Barton two in the top twenty, Keffer placed 19th overall scoring ten points with two placement points on a pair of 9th places. Payne finished outside of the Top-25 ranked finishers.

In Madden 21 play, Morris easily dispatched his quarterfinal opponent in advancing to the semifinals. Seeded fifth after a final regular season loss tumbled him from the top spot, Morris took game one 30-7 before earning a 'no mas' second game victory in jumping out to a 23-0 second quarter lead frustrating the 4th seed from Iowa Central Community College to disconnect ending the best-of-three series. Morris earns a bout with the winner of the first and eighth seed, taking place sometime between Thursday and Sunday. The victor of the semifinal matchup will play for the NJCAA Championship on Thursday, December 17.
