Stanford, Field pitching in Major Leagues Field had a stint with the Royals last year before being called up for a while earlier this season. So far Field has been impressive this time around, picking his first big league win on the 4th of July. Field has thrown in three games for the Royals this season in relief, allowing a single run through six innings of work. He has struck out five and currently owns a 1.50 ERA. The lone run Field has given up came in his first stint up with the Royals, back on June 14. Since his recall, he as pitched twice, throwing five innings of scoreless baseball. He picked up the win in Detroit on the 4th of the July, tossing 1 1/3 innings, striking out two, and not allowing any baserunners for his first win in the majors. Stanford has spent most of the last two seasons throwing for the Buffalo Bison, the AAA affiliate of the Indians. He made his major league debut on Sunday, starting at Minnesota. Stanford pitched five innings, allowing two hits, four walks, and two runs. The Indians trailed 2-1 when Stanford left the contest, but rallied for a 5-3 win in 10 innings. During his time in Buffalo this season as a starter, Stanford was 7-2 with 3.45 ERA. He was 3rd in the International League with 74 strike outs. Stanford was selected to pitch in the IL All-Star game this year before his call up the Indians. He was 11-3 in two seasons with Buffalo. Sanders has seen a lot of action this season for the White Sox, since being called up in April.
